The Conservative Party
Project title: Advising the Conservative Party’s election campaign in Scotland
The brief
The Conservative Party has suffered successive election defeats since 1997. AAB’s Insights was appointed to conduct an audit of the entire Scottish Conservative organization and provide assistance to the Party’s campaign for the 2007 Holyrood Parliamentary elections.
The solution
Insights worked with The Conservative Party’s election team to develop a strategy, draf the manifesto, implement the campaign on the ground, draft and design all campaign literature as well as produce two election broadcasts and managing the media with a 24/7 press office.
The results
The campaign resulted in improvements in the Scottish Conservatives’ position from 4th to 3rd, eclipsing the Liberal Democrats. Political editors from national newspapers voted the Conservative campaign most effective of the four main parties; senior Conservative Party executive, Andy Maciver, described Insights as “having done an outstanding job in difficult circumstances.”
