Following a report published by the TUC stating that workers are not claiming rightful overtime, Management Intelligence Chairman Bridget Biggar says trade unions are missing the point. “Whether businesses recognise it or not, whether it is conscious or subconscious, unpaid overtime is a sign that the UK workforce is banding together to do their bit to help haul us out of an economic nosedive – and in many but admittedly not all cases they are working harder and longer because they enjoy it”.
